Happy Half-O-Ween with the God of the Dead!

The sounds of the ages before and after float hauntingly over the fabulous Anubis!  God of the Dead until he was replaced in the Middle Kingdom by Osiris, he assumes many roles in the death process as he rules over his subjects.  Protector of the deceased and their tombs as well as associating himself with the mummifications process!   All done while holding himself regally above all of life and its subjects!  This fabulous Anubis is brilliantly given life by LeighSBDesigns especially for the half way mark to our most favorite holiday or as we call it, Half-O-Ween!  Yes, Half-O-Ween signifies only six more months until Halloween!  And we all are always ready for that!  So welcome and enjoy and participate in the LeighSBDesigns Half-O-Ween Blog Hop!

Time for the Poe Blog Hop by LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Post and to See the Last Page of the Fat Page Book!

Finally, my last page of my fat page book containing all but three of the new releases by LeighSBDesigns for the Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Blog Hop being held at the LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  I look forward to adding more pages as more spectacular digital images by Leigh are added to the Etsy Boutique!  Here we go with the images Edgar Allan Poe Portrait and Signature!

I only colored his eyes and tie as I wanted a vintage type look for this page.  Paper from the same paper pad with a strip of really cool vinyl type lace tape along the bottom that I bought in Japan for a dollar!  I stamped R.I.P. from my Halloween stamp stash with permanent black ink and used a tiny frame found hiding in my stash.  I also stamped all edges with black Distress Ink. 

If you haven't read the background story of Poe's actual life I encourage to do so.  He is famous now but never knew but few moments of fame when he lived and suffered so many deaths of those he loved in his short 40 years of life. Really interesting things!  Also if you get a chance to watch "The Raven" with John Cusack playing Poe, go for it!  It is a fictional tale of what might have caused Poe's death which to this date has never been really solved just guessed at by even the doctor's who were there when he died!

Page Five of the Poe Fat Page Book for the Blog Hop!

This page for me had to be added when I found a quote from Poe's poem "Alone".  It definitely described Poe and his childhood and the things that pointed him toward his art which was the invention of the detective fiction genre in America.  Of course this is being entered in the 3rd Annual Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Blog Hop hosted by LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  And LeighSBDesigns Etsy Boutique is full of new digital stamps of Poe and all things Poe that are very unique and fab! 

The Oddleigh Raven is part of the Oddleigh Poe and Raven set.  This time he stands alone atop the poem by the same name that I typed up from a web site full of Poe's quotes and memorable lines of his works.  The same paper pad and everything inked with Distress Ink and stamped with odds of stamps with red and brown inks.  The awesome lace is actually vinyl and I bought it in Japan for a dollar!  Colored him up with Spectrum Noir markers and glued it all down!

Keep on hopping and keep on leaving nice comments!  It makes blogging so much more worth it and fun for all of us!

Poe Blog Hop at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!

I think I could play with Poe makes for weeks, months, years? Yup, I could!  The 3rd Annual Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Blog Hop is going on and today I am sharing another wonderful digital stamp by LeighSBDesigns who has tons of new Poe images that are unique and exciting and some are on sale right now!  The link up for your Poe project is at the LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!

I used Oddleigh Poe from the Oddleigh Poe and Raven set. Again using paper from the 6 x 6 paper pad and inking with black Distress Ink.  I also used the image Poe Signature with Quill all found at the LeighSBDesigns Etsy Boutique!  I used Spectrum Noir to color up Poe and the quill feather. I typed text and inked in red because it was about his love of his real wife so red for hearts.  Another gothic looking black die cut flower and leaf with gold flakes glued on top with a bead for a center.

Keep hopping and inking!  Poe needs some appreciation; he pretty much had a lot of really bad days!

Ready for More Poe? Third Page of My Fat Page Book for the Poe Blog Hop!

What fun we are all having!  Time to show you the third page of my Poe fat page book; it is the twin page to page two and I made sure to put them in this order.  I used OddLeigh the Raven for this one. Make sure you, too, are linking your awesome Poe makes over at the LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!  LeighSBDesigns has created this Oddleigh the Raven digital stamp and lots more Poe new releases at the LeighSBDesigns Etsy Boutique so check them out!

Again using paper from the same designer paper pad with some background stamping and text inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  Since of course I am using his passion for writing as my theme, I glued a die cut typewriter highlighted with gold gel pen to an ATC paper sprayed with tea dye shimmer spray.  I know his work was probably done with a quill pen but this is an old typewriter so I fudged a bit! The little white glob was one of my attempts at melting crayons with the glue gun and putting different items in to make a wax seal like I am sure he used.  So it got popped onto the page! The raven and words are colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Hi, all!  Back again today with page two of my Poe fat book page.  I will be entering it in the 3rd Annual Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Blog Hop at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!   Don't forget to check out the LeighSBDesigns Etsy Boutique that has many many newly released Poe digital stamps! 

This page is all about the Oddleigh Raven Nevermore!  

I had to give him a door to hang around and shout his lovely "Nevermore"  I used a die cut and put some fabulous paper with spiders crawling so when you open the door you get a surprise! I stamped some random Halloween and background stamps in white and purple to give it a ghostly look.  Some typed text inked edges in black, and a bit colored gold and another fabulous paper flower make up the page.  The fabulous raven is colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Fat Page Book Fun For the Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Blog Hop at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog!

I just could not decide on which fantastic new release Poe digital stamps by LeighSBDesigns for the 3rd Annual Edgar Allan Poe Appreciation Blog being held at LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog to use on what type of project!  They seemed to fit so well together than a fat page book seemed like a good start!  This is my cover page of my book using Oddleigh Edgar Allan Poe with Text.

I colored him up with Spectrum Noir Markers.  I used designer paper from a 6 x 6 paper pad (I know usually use my papers and they will make an appearance during the hop!) I inked the image I cut around as I had colored around the image with a light brown to blend in with the paper.  I typed up his date of birth and death, so young only 40 years old when he died!  And such a tragic life! I used tea dye shimmer spray to spray a background strip of cardstock and to ink around the dates. I used some black flowers scattered with gold flakes as an embellishment.  I tied all the pages together with a gold cord.

Snowy Fireworks

Meet Oddleigh New Year Elf  and Fireworks!  The happy little Elf comes with her own traveling fireworks!  What a wonderful pair of digital images!  There is also a great sale for her and the other new release shhhh!  I am showing you this next! 

I had such fun coloring her up with Spectrum Noir markers.  The fireworks I colored with watercolors and then fussy cut to put on a journal page I had painted with left over colors from palette.  Then the little Elf was attached to the page and my wish for a Happy 2018 written on left over watercolor paints.

New Release First Christmas by LeighSBDesigns!

This digital image was a delight to work with for many reasons. The name is aptly First Christmas by LeighSBDesigns!  It so reminded me of my babies first Christmas (the little outfit was straight out of their baby books!) the only exception being my daughter was really bald for the first year and a half of her life :)  I am sure she won't mind me sharing that, right? hehe  The detailed image was also fun to color up and so many ideas how to use it!  I came up with one of those photo Christmas cards some people send.  I never have because I hate having my photo taken!  But they are cute and some of my friends do it so I got my inspiration from them.

Still enjoy those first Christmas memories when I look at this....sigh!  I would say at least now I can sleep all night but we all know my sleep schedule so I won't go there ;)

Sunshine in Her Hair and Thanksgiving Wishes with LeighSBDesigns!

What an adorable face Sunshine in Her Hair has and coloring her makes you smile no matter what mood you are in at the time!  I wanted to do a Thanksgiving tag and she fits a tag so well that I teamed her up with the Tangled Maple Leaf both from the fantabulous LeighSBDesigns!  If you want some show stopping digital stamps then click that little linky and go check out her Etsy Store!  Really superb images!

I won't lie to you, this almost got the best of me!  I colored her up with Spectrum Noir Markers for her hair and Prisma colored pencils for her face just ever so nicely.  The leaf is the colored pencils but for some reason almost every project I have made in the last two weeks has taken a yellow/weird tint to them.  I have used yellow more than I usually do so maybe my eye is just not seeing it right or something!  Plus, although I now have Photoshop on this computer, I am having trouble with the screen going light and dark so editing a pic is a toss up of whether it is going to come out super light or not light enough....sigh!  But back to the deets!  Nuance Powders were sprinkled on in fall colors: yellow and some orange for her hair area, reds for the sun burst she holds, and yellow, green and orange for the bottom portion.  I cut out her face from the other one I printed (I always print two of any image in case I make a mistake!) and held it tightly over her face while sprinkling powders with the other hand and spraying them then dabbing them to keep them from running under my mask.  I looked like a contortionist performing that task!  The sentiment was made in Photoshop as all of my sentiments and words stamps have vanished because I took them out of a box that I felt wasn't secure enough and put them in just the right box!  That is my great move....if I put something away for it to be super safe I usually never see it again or at least not for months and months ;)  I wet the cardstock to make a multicolored fall color sentiment but alas cardstock and watercolors do not play well together.  So I ended up just coloring over all the mismash with red watercolor from my 6 piece set I bought in Japan for a dollar!   Some cords through the hole at the top after attaching her at some point in the process to designer paper.  Told ya!  It almost whooped me!  But do we let those times stop us?  No way! Onward and forward!

Can't Stop Playing with Miss Oddleigh Catrina!

I colored up Miss Oddleigh Catrina by LeighSBDesigns again; I felt compelled to put her in a new background scene....does she have the powers to compel?  Hmmm, anyway seeing a YouTube video of the Art Sherpa painting a sugar skull combined with Vincent Van Gogh's famous starry night and sunflowers style it all seem to fit.  Miss Oddleigh  Catrina had found a new background!

She is colored with Prisma colored pencils and still no Photoshop so her colors are soooo not right, sob!  Picmonkey hates me I think.  I painted the background in my mixed media book with acrylic paints then glued her down.  I edged her with a Pitt Big Black Brush Marker to keep her from fading too much into the background.  I decided instead of using her fabulous Day of the Dead  sentiment that she comes with to give a nod to the night.  So she is celebrating the Day of the Dead and the night all at once.  The little gal will be popping up celebrating in all sorts of places I do believe!

New Released Tangled Pumpkins by LeighSBDesigns!

I love the "Tangled" images LeighSBDesigns has and the pumpkins are simply gorgeous!  I started coloring them with Spectrum Noir markers, well, totally colored them and then wasn't really happy so I used Distress Inks watered down as a watercolor and redid them.  They are appropriately called the Tangled Pumpkins!

I had some fab free papers from Somerset Gallery in oranges and leaves so with some Tim Holtz's die cuts bought at Tuesday morning at great prices, it came all together as a Happy Fall Card!  I used orange sparkly spray and some tea dye by Heidi Swapp.  My letters for the sentiment are from a fabtastic alphabet stamp set on wood blocks from Japan's 100 yen store that has some 2 and 3 dollar things also and it coSst 2 dollars.  Worked great with some green permanent ink.  Loved the little heart it had with it!


Still no Photoshop trying desperately to make Picmonkey work and loosing the battle!  Hopefully by Monday!

New! Miss Oddleigh Catrina Celebrates the Day of the Dead with LeighSBDesigns!

What a fabulous time I  had with all the colors for this lovely Day of the Dead Catrina named Miss Oddleigh Catrina by LeighSBDesigns!  I  love color and started going for a tag but my acrylics called at the last moment and since I am a bit late with the Day of the Dead, I decided to give her a lovely fall background night and day!  And some kitties among the chrysanthemums at the foot of the tree!

Now following along with my spectacular run of good luck as of late including another pulled/cracked rib....eeoww! I toppled my old reliable laptop with ALL my absolute necessary stuff to do my job here cracking the screen all to  😭!  So no Photoshop Elements because I do not know how to put it on the new computer Noel gave me plus it got a great virus and has to be wiped clean before going to all out transferring things.  So long and short...photo is as is!  Sorry!

She is colored with Spectrum Noir markers fussy cut and glued onto an acrylic canvas paper.  The sign comes with her and I colored it red and used orange Nuance Powders on it.  I also inked all edges with Distress Inks in Carved Pumpkin.  I sadly did a poor job mimicking the chrysanthemums that Leigh drew!  It is much harder than it looks, folks!

Lil Miss Oddleigh Witchiepoo from LSBDesigns Flies In!

Kitty Luna and LeighSBDesigns!

Today I am asking if you know where your kitty goes at midnight on Halloween?  Well Kitty Luna from LeighSBDesigns heads to the tree for a faboolous view of the moon!  Here is how I think it goes down! Oh and it is Tuesday Tutorial but I am giving you a really abbreviated version so you can keep hopping!

I colored Kitty Luna with Spectrum Noir markers then used acrylic paints to do the sky and small tree limbs and highlights.  The moon is also colored with the markers.  Looks like mischief is those eyes to me!

Tangled Rose Collage Eyes and LeighSBDesigns!

I love the Tangled Rose Collage digital stamp from LeighSBDesigns!  I like layering the rose up and giving it some dimension!  Here is my index card featuring the Tangled Rose Collage!

I colored it up with Spectrum Noir markers and attached to more of my homemade background paper. I double colored and cut the rose layering it up and the corner blocks, too!  Then I distressed the edges and made some lines with a white gel pen.  All done!

A Witch's Night Out at LeighSBDesigns!

You know those witches love to party!  And on Halloween night and the 31 Days of Halloween...forget about it!  It is on and they are party animals...some of them literally party animals!  I have used the Tangled Witch Hat from LeighSBDesigns for this party play make!

I used a skelly stencil given to me by Granne and stamps given me by Tracy on my homemade background paper made from leftover paint from my palette of acrylic paints and a brayer.  The skull and shoes and broom were fussy cut and glued. The witches hat is on pop dots of foam as well as the sentiment.  She is ready to PAAARTY!

Hearts on Fire and Alfred at LeighSBDesigns!

I just adore Alfred Hitchcock and this digital stamp by LeighSBDesigns is super realistic!  Welcome back for the 31 Days of Halloween!  Here is my little canvas with a burning heart behind good ole Alfred and his pet raven!

Colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and fussy cut to add on top of an acrylic canvas.  I used Photoshop to add the sentiment in a gothic horror font.  Just to add that for Halloween but have the lovely piece for my studio without the sentiment.

Beasties Be Calling at LeighSBDesigns!

I love these little guys! They look like they have my attitude! Ok, I admit I have been in a bad temper for quiet a while!  But these guys make YOU pay for their mood!  It's 31 Days of Halloween and LeighSBDesigns is playing along!  Today my offering is this with the Bizarre Beasties!

I painted the background with acrylic paint; I painted the Beasties home tree with lots of other Beasties peeping out!  Also hanging out with them is the Tangled Raven who keeps an eye out for the far away stuff to haunt by taking regular flights around the forest!  And a hand lettered sentiment of course with Beasties Be Calling!  Colored with Spectrum Noir and fussy cut and added to the background and glued.
