Back Home for Day 13 of the 31 Days of Halloween!

Please don't continue unless gross grossness is your cups! I am a full day home from Japan and had to stop at the first emergency rom die to this "stuff" that afflicts me only in Japan usually the last couple of days. But this time our longest trip of course not! Bam first thing off plane!

My image of my hideous telethon improved leg condition that no was not diagnosed at the hospital! I have to go to an allergist before returning to aJapan without fear of spending seven days in the hotel yay! NOT! will be in place very soon for now I thought today was covered and computer is outside in car and I am on no weight on legs soooo mot waking son at midnight I might have more serious problems!

The rest the contest all will be taken care of tomorrow on phone and medicated so leaving before it gets hilarious!

I am ghoul and unhappy right now lovelies!

EEEEK! Day 12 did not post and gremlins ate it!

A Witch's Night Out at LeighSBDesigns!

You know those witches love to party!  And on Halloween night and the 31 Days of Halloween...forget about it!  It is on and they are party animals...some of them literally party animals!  I have used the Tangled Witch Hat from LeighSBDesigns for this party play make!

I used a skelly stencil given to me by Granne and stamps given me by Tracy on my homemade background paper made from leftover paint from my palette of acrylic paints and a brayer.  The skull and shoes and broom were fussy cut and glued. The witches hat is on pop dots of foam as well as the sentiment.  She is ready to PAAARTY!

Day 11 of the 31 Days of Halloween and a Sad Scary Piece of History

As a child I always heard of the Salem witch hunts and it sparked a tingle of fear and a lot of no way am I reading about that!  I saw a project for the AALandCreate  #17Challenge that made me think of this fear I had of exploring what really happened and going through my vintage images from the British Library sparked a project.  I then researched what happened.  Young girls, quiet possibly reacting to ergot,  a toxic substance in their diet found in wheat and rye, that was enough in smaller bodies to cause disturbing side effects, blamed a woman slave of hexing them and a homeless beggar woman and an elderly woman of bewitching them.  The woman scared for her life confessed falsely confessed but in an attempt to save her life said many other witches lived among them in the village.  From there it was literally a witch hunt with many of those accused falsely blaming others to save their own lives. Many other young girls began having the same symptoms and after the first two being diagnosed by the doctor of "bewitchment".  A special court condemned 19 women to death at the Salem Gallows with over 150 men and women even a child being accused and many imprisoned falsely.  Seven of those women died in prison while the husband of one woman was pressed  to death by stones because he would not enter a plea in the court.

  A revered minister Cotton Mather warned as all this was going on that it was better to let ten witches live than to kill one innocent person.  The law was passed down eventually saying "spectral evidence" could not be entered in the court with the court finally being shut down. One of the judges who had condemned these poor women and men later called for a day of Fast for the awful trials and apologized for his part in the tragedy.  The courts of the colony ruled the whole special court to be unlawful and eventually all in prison were released and in 1711 restitution was paid to the families of those hung.  Too little too late, wasn't it?  This all had started in January, 1692, and brought out an ugliness in humanity that was immersed in a fear based society. 

No, none of the above is original to me but a poem or story could not be more terrifying than how those accused felt.  The image below that I mentioned made me think how they must have cried with rage in their souls as they were accused and taken to be hung or to languish in prison away from their families.  So I leave the Salem Witch Trials with this image and a prayer that a fear based future for any generations to come never exists as many after this event have and had horrible results.

Day 10 and a Weird Circus!

This circus features some batty folks and animals!  Some might say dress up for Halloween other demonic possession for the contorted dude on the foot stool!  So potato, paataato you make the call! This set is from Tumble Fish Studios at Mischief Circus and is called Halloween!  Appropriate, no??? Gotta love that little wicked kitty in the corner either way you go though!

At least they have a disco ball!  Can't go wrong with a disco ball now can you?

Day 9 of the 31 Days of Halloween and Something is Wrong with this Poor Guys Hand!

How's it going out there?  Let me here an evil laugh!!  Now Scream!!  It's the 31 Days of Halloween, Witches!  Today a vintage image of a poor guy with an ant issue and some tissue health problems...needs a dermatologist maybe?  I fear it may not help but oh well, it's Halloween!  No need explaining the pic says it all! :)

Ghost Nan's time is ending in a few days at the most but I am hoping ahead of time that all posts have gone out on time!  If not Ghost Nan is toast when I hit the driveway!

I just adore Alfred Hitchcock and this digital stamp by LeighSBDesigns is super realistic!  Welcome back for the 31 Days of Halloween!  Here is my little canvas with a burning heart behind good ole Alfred and his pet raven!

Colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and fussy cut to add on top of an acrylic canvas.  I used Photoshop to add the sentiment in a gothic horror font.  Just to add that for Halloween but have the lovely piece for my studio without the sentiment.

Day 8 of the 31 Days of Halloween and a Postcard from a Spider!

It's time for a little arachnophobia around here! We have had bats and ants well it's the spider's turn...literally!  This lovely image came from a Halloween Collage Sheet from Lunagirl Victorian Images!  The sentiment was online no credit given and trust me I was going for something spooky but this one just had me rolling maybe because I am sleep deprived?? anyway I thought it appropriate!

Consider this a bonus quote from this little pet of mine!  He said to tell all the boyfriends that he can make their girlfriends scream louder than they can 😼

Day 7 of the 31 DOH and VAMPIRES!!! EEEK!!

Do you believe in vampires?  How about Tangled Vampire Cats? Well, you do believe in the Tangled Vampire Cat at LeighSBDesigns and what a beauty he is .....he looks like a guy cat to me 😁!  I just love this little guy!

He is fussy cut and tail and foot double layered with foam tape.  The background is some paints in my paint palette keeper that were going to waste so I put them in globs on two index cards and brayered and sprayed.  Then a stencil to follow some of his line work!  He is colored in Spectrum Noir markers and I couldn't resist the old ad: Got Milk? well, he wants to know if you got BLOOD!  Golden shiny finish used on his eyes and I painted his vampire teeth white so they would pop and on the ornate thing he is holding for fab shine! I spattered my hand lettered sentiment with a toothbrush and some thin red acrylic paint making some fabulous blood spatters a lot of them!

He had her in his arms one minute only to loose her the next breath.  Love gone wrong, why?  So many reasons and love can be the most scary thing there is when you are looking for it and think you have found it again only to realize you were fooling yourself!  Shakespeare's quotes on love are really profound, of course, and some very very sweet!  Google it, as dear Anne would and does tell me!  Vintage image from the British Library watercolored loosely it is more about the two people and the sentiment on this one.

Day Five of the 31 Days of Halloween!

This might be a piece that you look at and go piff! that is not scary!  But this piece is terrifying to me because I am afraid of small boats in water and crocodiles that have swallowed a clock and are "ticked" off at me (sorry had to do it!)!  And I am definitely sure that Captain Hook is more than terrified by this whole scene!  

I used watercolor paints again  some help from the Art Sherpa and murkied up the water and can only imagine what else is lurking down under that tiny boat!!

Remember we are leaving lots of love for each Wicked Blogger in the spirit of Halloween or an evil dust mite might just get revenge tonight...shiver me timbers!!

Again, this is Ghost Nan filling in for the real old Nan who right now probably is wobbling from all of the glorious food she is eating as they wander down the streets of Tokyo and Kyoto!

Day 4 and The Asylum!

Any American Horror Show fans out there??  Asylum was my least favorite but also scared me the least so that evens it out! LOL  I have another couple who are blaming their issues on each other or maybe YOU?  I don't really understand as seeing a frog with fairy antenna doesn't seem odd to me but it got them smack in the middle of a treatment facility!  Some people have no sense of humor I guess!  I wish them the best....maybe when they no longer see the antenna they can go home?  Oh well, we bid them adieu for now!

Beasties Be Calling at LeighSBDesigns!

I love these little guys! They look like they have my attitude! Ok, I admit I have been in a bad temper for quiet a while!  But these guys make YOU pay for their mood!  It's 31 Days of Halloween and LeighSBDesigns is playing along!  Today my offering is this with the Bizarre Beasties!

I painted the background with acrylic paint; I painted the Beasties home tree with lots of other Beasties peeping out!  Also hanging out with them is the Tangled Raven who keeps an eye out for the far away stuff to haunt by taking regular flights around the forest!  And a hand lettered sentiment of course with Beasties Be Calling!  Colored with Spectrum Noir and fussy cut and added to the background and glued.
