It is sooo close to the 31 Days of Halloween so I thought it was time for a little more Alfred!
So here is a simple tag with two of my favorites as to date from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda! Good old Alfred (Alfred Hitchcock Standing
found at Carmen's Veranda) just keeps calling my name. I have made a
locket with him but the soldering has gotten the best of me on it but it
will make an appearance here eventually! This awesome "Grunge Tree" seems to fit him so well, too, and since it is a favorite, why not?
I
love these two stamps together...like so many at Lost Coast Designs and
Carmen's Veranda, they just seem made for each other. And that skull
bead? Oh, I think old Alfred would have had a chuckle!

The Tell - Tale Heart
The challenge at Quoth the Raven this month is "Material" meaning use some sort of fabric in the make. I had seen a project from an awesome lady who had taken a hand drawn basic human heart and embroidered the outline and lots of small, medium, and large words "loud" to indicate how the heart beating beneath those floorboards had tormented the killer. I fell in love with this shoulder bag made of a cotton and wanted to try one. Well, first I thought the embroidery would not be a big challenge until I made the first stitch! Then I remembered that I did not know how to do it so well if any! I should have started this the 1st day of the month of last month to have done a better job of this. But I kept on going and ended up with my version of this fabulous project. I am not done with it and will get the right fabric and take the time and maybe get my Mom to refresh my skills and tackle it again!
I added some red seed bead drops and drips to the valves of the heart.

It has a black lace strap that doesn't show up too well on a black spider Queen Halloween costume already on the dress form!
Still time but not a whole lot so make something Poe related and make sure you have some fabric in it and come see the Quoth the Raven crew with your make, they are waiting for you! And remember all Poe makes are also welcome at Dream in Darkness Challenge Blog so get two for you time and effort!

Skully Angel
I had completely finished this skully angel for DominoArt's
challenge when I read the theme again and as I realized the theme was
"Ghosts"....not anything skully about it! But he looked so sad and left
behind sitting on my work table I decided to let him "shine" here
today. He is a versatile little skull angel stamp from Lost Coast Designs
that I use with and without the wings, this time doing both but using
both? I stamped him in embossing ink on my domino and used black
embossing powder, then heated him up..not perfect but he is a skull
after all. Then I cut out a canned drink that had a cool design but
decided to just emboss his wings on the plain side, well, I really
embossed the whole stamp on the plain side so I would know just where to
sit the domino. And add the pull tab from the can for a necklace loop
and that was it!
I will be entering him in the following challenges:

Challenge #16 "Ghosts" at DominoArt this Month
Summer is over...yes, we must admit it but DominoArt's challenges are back! Gotta take the bad with the good and it is good to play at DominoArt again! This time I decided on puzzles pieces after making what I thought was a totally cool skull domino pendant before reading the challenge theme again. They all tell me to read carefully, those that know me know me sooo well :)
I took a 24 piece puzzle for larger pieces and connected 3 together. Black geeso and an embossed ghost, the word spooky and 2 hanging tiny spiders.
The ghost was embossed with what I thought was white embossing powder but I think it must have been clear but he is there! Then I stamped Perfect Medium all over the piece and dusted with purple.
Then a chain with some baubles for the necklace after drilling two holes in the top notches of the puzzle pieces with my handy dandy drill!
Head on over to DominoArt and make them see ghosts!

Flying Monkeys Oh My!
I absolutely love this stamp! From Carmen's Veranda "Flying Monkey" is so much fun! And of course, the "Flying Monkeys Background" stamp
is equally fantastic! I made this postcard sized on some paper I made
with shimmer sprays and added some Distress markers to color him up.
This is my post for today on the Lost Coaster's Review Design Team Blog and it is also up on the Lost Coast Facebook page. Please like us and visit the Reviewers Blog every other day for some inspiration by some awesome teamies
I added the word "Believe" from the word stamp "Doodle Words" from Lost Coast Designs because you really have to believe in flying monkeys for it to be fun! Hope to see you at our Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for all our challenge and event news! Some fabulous events coming up but shhh! I didn't leak it!
Remember, our challenge this month is "One Layer or Single Layer" so come play and get a chance at some fabulous rubber from Lost Coast Designs!

Had Your Fortune Told Lately?
I really love this stamp from Lost Coast Designs called "Fortune Teller". I also loved, loved a paper pad I borrowed from my aunt called "Once Upon a Time"; it had so many awesome, yes, magical papers in it that I now owe my aunt a new pad! But I did happen upon a small piece that had actually been scored already, I assume wrongly, but it screamed for the Fortune Teller to live there! I added a "Henna Hand (Birds)" and the sun from the "Sun and Moon" also Lost Coast Designs and popped on a glass bobble to the sun's face and backed with a floral paper from that pad and it was done! I did think of coloring in some of the elements but these stamps are so fabulous as stamped I decided to leave it as it was. I did add some homemade enamel dots to the bottom :)
Don't forget to check out our September Challenge "One Layer" and the Portal to Creativity because we have tons of fab things right around the corner! Also, please like our pages at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda where a brand new challenge has been announced! Links to all right below!

Pirate Time at Dream in Darkness Challenge!
It is Talk Like a Pirate Day on the 19th of this month, so of course we decided to take it seriously all month long at Dream in Darkness! Here is my synopsis of Blackbeard's life of pillaging, having piratey fun, and ultimately his head hanging from the ship of the captain who killed him. Oh well, fun and consequences!
This all started from the half skull in the middle, a gelatin mold from the dollar store with air dry clay layered in fairly thinly. Anton the Zombie Pirate by Rick St. Dennis gave it that hearty pirate look i was going for.
Then as luck would have it we went miniature golfing at a Pirate course so I got some awesome pics of some piratey things to add!
Mischief Circus' s Enna's Creations Blackbeard's Adventures kit added the fab foggy sea, boat, and wonderful parrot!
We have a fabulous challenge for your dark and creepy makes so please hop over to our challenge blog and enter your creep!
