Color Crazy Time with Whimsy

At the Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge for March the theme is "Crazy for Colour" (notice my spelling...believe me it is right to spell it this way where I live :) and I wanted a chance to finger paint with some new Dylusions paints!  Such yummy, scrumptious colors, indeed!  I made a journal page using one of my girls I drew months ago that I found "a" sketch pad as I was tearing a sheet of paper out to start.  Good timing.  She is whimsical but not happy so in my book not cute.  The wording got lost in the blue but that kind of fits the theme of this page, too.

I also wanted to play at Art Journal Journey where the theme is "If You Go into the Woods" so I added the blue Distress ink gauze rolled flowers as she is lost in a sort of dark Wonderland that is somehow affected by the O's and 1's of the binary "woods".  A place that I quiet often get lost in much easier I think than I would in a real forest!

I would like to enter this in the following challenge:

And at Art Journal Journey "If You Go into the Woods"  (gauze flowers and dark Wonderland themed page to fit the challenge theme)

ATC Around the World Challenge

The challenge at ATC Around the World  is:

# 15 Everything goes with option use a stamp
Anything goes opt. Use Letter Stamp

It is my first time playing here and I used a stamp with letters on it from Lost Coast Designs.  It is a tarot card stamp "Diva of Midnight Summer Dreams" and it is a new release.  I had to trim it down to ATC size but I am happy with it.

Thanks for stopping in and having a look at her!  I am entering her in:

Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers L is for Legend

The mere sight of the man brings that song to you head playing over and over again.  See a bunch of birds and you might just duck for cover!  A hotel on a hill?  Not me!  Yes, the man, the legend, Mr. Alfred Hitchcock of television and movie fame and the stuff nightmares are born of!  I have thrown almost all of my stamps at this one, each time thinking that is enough then seeing another and popping it down, too.

Alfred is a Carmen's Veranda stamp aptly named "Alfred Hitchcock Standing" and his shrine is also from Carmen's Veranda and is the "Large Skeleton Shrine".  The various skulls, bones, birds, and splotches (could they be blood?) are from various stamp sets from Michael's all recently put on sale to my great fortune :)  Hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane if you are old enough if not get Netflixs and catch up!

Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers DT

I always troll by the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers to see the theme and say I must play only to get behind and not do it.  Imagine my surprise today when not only was the new theme listed, well, has been for a bit! but also a call to ask to join the sisterhood!  OMG!  Stamping with an attitude all the time?  Could this be a real thing?  After pinching myself black and blue, I got busy with my card to lay at the feet of the Sisterhood.  Without further dudes, I mean adieu, here it is.

Yes, that about sums it up.  Keep up the grand work Sisters!  The world needs a break from all of the seriousness and some snark is needed in the right places!

Star Wars!

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge is ...wait for it....STAR WARS!  I had to play this one even ran to Etsy by ran I mean typed and clicked to get something, anything Star Wars.  Seriously, I was going to get all artsy and have a play with the theme but come on, it is Star Wars, need I add anything else to that?  So here it is with all the Force I could muster!

Thanks to the Etsy seller who I have forgotten their name!  It is a combination of images from a downloadable sheet inked and then some Salty Ocean stars out there in the Galaxy!  I am obviously entering this at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge theme "Star Wars" :)

It's Time to Bloom More Flora and Fluffies at Lost Coast Designs!

We all know there is someone watching their watch to tell the tulips to rise and shine it's spring time and who else?  The white rabbit of course!  He is always keeping an eye on the clock and who better to keep the flowers in line for their big show stopping event?  Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda have some awesome Alice stamps and I used another one from the "Rabbit, Cat Face, Hatter, and Rabbit with Watch" along with an awesome new release of a 5 inch tall "Tulip".  I used them to copy our fearless leader Leigh just a bit (well, more than a bit LOL) and made a cut away card.

Along with a fabulous embossing folder gifted me at Christmas I added some Gelato blue metallic on the "Spray Webbing" background stamp also a new release. The little bunny in the corner is mine from way back when and he wanted a bit of the spotlight, too!

You have until April 3rd to link up your bunnies and/or flowers at the Portal HERE.  Please read the info and rules while you are there :) and your make has to have a rubber stamped image on it, cause that is what we do LOL!

Flora and Fluffy Tails Event at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!

I just love Alice in Wonderland as you may know so when the subject of those chocolate bunnies and fluffy bunnies came up I was all for the White Rabbit to herald in the Easter season or Spring or whatever you fancy him to herald in!  I love the simplicity of the wonderful stamps at Lost Coast Designs they take me right back to my books as a child.  So onto some pages from a foreign language book retrieved from the dump at the 2nd hand book store I stamped him and put him in a fancy frame that he deserves along with the word "Sweet" from the Misc. Words set also from Lost Coast Designs.  If you indulge yourself with anything this month get that set!  It is so versatile I use it almost every time I stamp! The White Rabbit I have comes in a set called "Rabbit, Cat Face, Hatter, and Rabbit with Watch"

Come join in the fun and check out all of our fun sites below with the linkys!  And play in our challenges there is always one going on so play and win!

That's What Friends Are For

Time for a fabulous Oz blog hop with the design team members of Lost Coast Designs!  Yep, we have left Kansas and reality a bit to visit the folks of Oz!  I like to call this "That's What Friends are For" because we know how important this trio of new friends was to Dorothy when she landed in that strange and wonderful land!  I created a acrylic mixed media piece with the yellow brick road leading to the Emerald City far away to the right of the canvas.  And congregating and making their way to it are Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion.

These awesome stamps can be found along with some more amazing Oz stamps at Lost Coast Designs here.
I used the Wizard of Oz set 2 that has the witch and the flying monkey and a border, too!

I hope you will visit all the teams blogs as they have some marvelous makes waiting for you!  For now I am going to join my friends and play among the flowers until we get sleepy and take a nap :)

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to visit all of our groups and pages for lots of info and chances to win lovely prizes!

Boris Wants to Party!

Carmen's Veranda is stock full of the most unique and amazing rubber stamps!  This is Boris Karloff and next to Alfred he is my fav!  Our challenge theme is "Let's Party" at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity this month and Boris wants to play and party!  He even got dolled up in his hats and some glitter to shine for the night.

Menacing eyes for sure!  But what fun to play with!  The Nuance powders had to come out and play of course cause it's a party!  Misc. Words wanted a peek at the party along with the Horizontal Party Hats.  I think there is fun to be had by all!

Join us in the fun and enter the challenge (remember it must be rubber stamped any company but double your chances if you use Lost Coast Designs or Carmen's Veranda!) at the Portal and check out the Portal to Creativity for all up to date info and a little inspiration :)
