Rhedd's Creative Spirit June Challenge is Here!

This is so fun creating for Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenges here!  We are altered art and have some of the most talented ladies that make this newbie look awfully NEW!  But what a learning experience it is!! And the entries make me want to try all of the techniques used and with so many entering, well I would have to work 24/7 for years to do it!  I had the honor and intimidating task to pick the winner for May!  So hard with all the talent that was shown!  And congratz to the winner...yes, you have to go there and see! and all who entered and made it such a hard decision to make!

For this month I have made a Finnabair style canvas from a shipping box some lovely friend sent me an amazing altered clipboard in!  So here are some pics with a few words to explain here and there!

Lady from the awesome Graphic Fairy found here who has thousands of free images!

Stamp from Butterside Down Stamps found

Close up of the bits and bobs in her hair!  There is even a
small coffee filter flower in there. Can you find it?
Stamp on her neck is from VivaLasVegas Stamps found here given
in a goody bag by a wonderful friend Down Under!

And the opposite side of this is my "canvas" as nothing makes me
happier than to use something to be thrown out and make something
I love!  I sprayed it with black flat paint and added a piece of white
lace over that.  Then layered torn paper, texture paste in different
colors, and lots of homemade sprays!  Then some white acrylic paint to highlight
area around her face and the sentiment tag.  The only purchased bits were the wings
and roses which came from Michael's bargain bin.  So if you are like me and love
the style but see videos are look at pictures and think I can't afford all of those
pieces!  Look closely at what I used. From paper clips to old key to a long
abandoned domino book front!  So dig through those drawers and cabinets
and desks and find some ordinary things and make something extra special!

Please follow the links to Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge Blog and enter and be inspired!
The order you do that in does not matter either!

Happy crafting!
