Bad Santa Came and Went!

On the 5th day of Creepmas and my true love sent to me...Bad Santa! He is in a rotten mood after all those zillion letters from us begging for this and that.  So his solution?  Here it is and do pay heed to it!

Image is "Ya Want This??" from Rick St. Dennis and colored with Prisma colored pencils with some distress ink around him...blue/gray as his mood is not sunny at all!

I would like to enter him in Forever Dark 2 December

A Whimsy Krampus?

Can there be a whimsy Krampus?  I was reading up on the old guy since this is only my second Creepmas celebration and first, I am glad my folks didn't know about him!  I was never naughty of course, but still :)  This journal page came from my studies and is the abbreviated version of Krampus..and yes, I know I forgot the sticks in his hand!  It is dark outside, lovelies!!!  No going out there this time of year no way!

I drew him LOL can you tell?

Exactly 4 Days Left! Hurry!

Ok, we know you are making us wait on the goodness but come on!  Time is running out!  Come add your entry to the linky at Lost Coast Designs Monthly Challenge "Board Game Pieces" just as quick as your inky fingers can get there!  Here is a little tiny altered puzzle box with the puzzle inside made to hang on the tree.  I used the " Quilted Wings Angel" from Carmen's Veranda, well as much as would  fit on the tiny box and then used all of her on the puzzle which actually can be put back together.

Proof it comes apart :)

Gelatos and shimmer mist galore with the "Large Christmas Tree" and "Christmas Lights" also found at Carmen's Veranda.  Colored with Derwent Inktense Blocks...her face is tan not zombie colored!

And it all goes in about a 2 inch box with the words from "Party Words" at Lost Coast Designs.  I added some shimmer mist to this after seeing the photo but it has vanished from my files..those gremlins again!

Come see the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for all the info and chances to win some spending money at the store to treat yourself for Christmas!  You don't have to use our stamps to enter our monthly challenge but if you do you double your chances :)

starts Dec 1 though to Jan 15, 2016

and I just had to have some more play with these awesome stamps!  Since I had to cut off some legs to make my ATC block, I had to show you the rest of the lovely "Reindeer Doll" and "Elf with Star", legs and all!

 '
I am not a tag maker for some reason probably because like cards I seem to miss the mark on most of the ones I make but these two I really love.  Gelatos and Inktense blocks with some Chameleon pens used like water colors in some places and some stenciled snowflakes with some bling and they were done!

Make sure to enter our challenge for December which is "Make a Game Board Piece" and also enter the Carmen's Christmas event!  All the goodies can be found at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity so look at those side bars and click away to find loads of fun!

A Merry Carmen's Veranda's Christmas to You!

We are celebrating Christmas with a Carmen's Veranda's Christmas Event showcasing some of the wonderful stamps found there to use for the holidays!  Keep up with all our challenges and events at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and never miss any of the fun :)  I loved ALL of the stamps and decided to make a set of 4 ATC's created using the same process for the background.  Then I began reading about ATC Blocks and went with a modified version of that using a old tin that just fit the ATC's when completed.

The only drawback was having to cut off some legs...sigh..but I kept them because I have a feeling one day I will just really really need some legs for something!  The ATC's background was white cardstock layered with sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang, stenciled with some acrylic paint, and randomly stamped with "Merry Christmas" from Lost Coast Designs and I used the "Christmas Lights" stamp from there also doing all 4 in a set of 6 at the same time to keep it matching. This one is stamped with "Elf with Star" colored with Prisma colored pencils and the lights on the string colored with markers, then fussy cut him and glued onto the ATC after attaching them to the sides of the painted, distressed tin.

I totally love this lovely "Reindeer Doll" who has some lovely legs by the way!  Glossy Accents added to make it shine in parts in real life, promise!

Now this "Waving Santa" reminded me of a store Santa when I was 12 so I did giggle a bit while working on him and added some wings from the "Skull with Wings" from Lost Coast Designs.  Added some red and green bling from dollar store sale after last Christmas also where the tiny ornaments on top came from.  I added some snowflakes to the top hangers but the white did not show up against the white light box :(

This sweetie "Quilted Wing Angel" is one of several gorgeous angels available at Carmen's Veranda.  She is so cute and happy!

Thanks for hanging in there with me through a long post but wanted to share the deets with you.  Please check out my team mates wonderful makes for this event and don't forget our challenge this month at Lost Coast Designs!  So hope to visit your blog when you enter so I can see your place!

Some Christmas Mail Art for Lost Coast Desings with Carmen's Veranda

Our Lost Coast Designs Challenge is still open for a few days, we close on the 27th so get those stamps and get messy with an envelope!  I finally got my Derwent Inktense blocks last week...squeee!  I gently tore an envelope from Betty Jo from a swap to use as my template.  Then loads of watercolor blocks and stamping with the wrong ink that smeared horribly so covered with a coat of light green paint and left it!  Came back and started over and added some stencils and embossed the inked images :)

I used the wonderful "Elf With Star" from Carmen's Veranda and the "Christmas Lights" from there too.
Had to add "Merry Christmas" from Party Words comes from Lost Coast Designs and it has a ton of sentiments on it so well worth having in your stash!

That's it for me today!  Come play with us we have events coming up that you can keep up with on the amazing Lost Coast Portal to Creativity ...just look at the side bars and click on the things we have going on and it will take you right there...magic!

So here is a simple tag with two of my favorites as to date from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda!  Good old Alfred (Alfred Hitchcock Standing found at Carmen's Veranda)  just keeps calling my name.  I have made a locket with him but the soldering has gotten the best of me on it but it will make an appearance here eventually!  This awesome "Grunge Tree" seems to fit him so well, too, and since it is a favorite, why not?

I love these two stamps together...like so many at Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda, they just seem made for each other.  And that skull bead?  Oh, I think old Alfred would have had a chuckle!

Get ready for our new Challenge at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity the first Monday of December and enter our November Challenge "Mail Art".  Follow all the news and how to's on the Lost Coast  Portal to Creativity where all of our info is listed and posted!  Don't miss out on the fun and fun it is!

Some Happy Skellies

This is a make from 31 Days of Halloween thought I would add them all here as I forgot to do it after they were posted on the Lost Coast to Creativity Designer Blog :(  This make is from Lost Coast Designs and is from the fabulous stamp called "Dancing Skeletons" and I love this stamp!  I must admit I adore every stamp in the line of Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda; they seem made for my quirky self!

I used the glossy photo with wet Distress Inks to make the background for the dancing skeletons...I think that technique is wonderful!  Thanks Lindsay!  The canvas/cardboard it is mounted on is embossed with the "Three Trees" background stamp from Carmen's Veranda and embossed with black embossing powder.  I used sprays from DecoArt and Lindy's lots of layering on a gesso base.  The wire fence is handmade and then a chipboard cat, skull, and pumpkin and some black cardstock skulls with some spiders round up the whole night time party!  And for a party, no disco ball to be found so some silver beads frame the happy skellies!

Make sure you don't miss a day visiting the Lost Coast Designs Portal to Creativity for wonderful chances to enter our challenges and events and our Facebook page has a challenge that will be up very soon so keep up with the news there, too.

Halfway Mark with Quoth the Raven

I am so into gelatos and drawing my whimsy girls that I took another step with a mixed media canvas with Master Poe and his beloved Lenore drawn in my learning stages of whimsy.  I wanted them to have a wedding portrait so I drew them and have added their wedding accessories which just happen to have flowers to go with the theme this month at Quoth the Raven "POEsies" using floral things in your make.

So congratulations, belatedly, to the poor dear couple and hope you enter your Poesies into this wonderful challenge where you can explore one of our literary greats and learn and play at the same time!  Hope to see you there still plenty of time :)

I am a little past the halfway mark but still time to get your Poe on and come play at one of the most fun places to play at, Quoth the Raven!

A Pocket Full of POEsies at Quoth the Raven

It's time for challenge #50 at Quoth the Raven and the theme is "POEsies - a floral theme".  I decided to take the challenge quiet literally and made a tissue paper flower stamped with "Nevermore" from Viva Las VegaStamps! all throughout it.  And the center of course is dear Poe, looking not too happy about my decision!  Then a pocket cut from a fabulous raven sheet from Ike's Art with some stitching with a Sharpie and glued down on a piece of black cardstock.

Come on over and join us with your floral offerings to Master Poe!

Never Trust a Skinny Cook?

I have always heard that but as I could never cook anyway could not prove or disprove it!  But this little board kitchen is certainly suggesting it maybe true.  The stamps are from Rubber Bandit and the set is "Kitchen Scales Set".  The little people waiting to be added to the stew when the cook digests that whole crow sitting in her tummy or where it was at one time are from Silvercrow Creations.  The paints are by DecoArt: gesso, crackle paste, antiquing cream, red iron oxide, matte medium. The skelly's head that goes against all things scientific is mine drawn and colored with Prisma colored pencils.  The brain waiting for her zombie boyfriend (so easy no cooking required!) is polymer clay painted after baking to look zombiefied.  And no she is not picking her nose!  That is a piece of chocolate bar in her hand!

So up to you whether to trust her or not....as for me no thanks.  And the knife in her hand is only for caring up the ravens and sometimes a fly...she is not violent not a violent bone in her body!

Domino Bat Book for Day 28 at DominoArt's Scarefest 2015

I just love a domino book!  So many options and so easy to make.  I added some batty paper to the front and the back and added Diamond Accents to them placing a plastic bat highlighted in silver ink before laying it in the goo.  I painted my dominoes with green metallic paint and then when everything was dry inked it all up with black ink.  I scored and folded another piece of double sided paper for my insides of my book.  I just found a long block with 4 weird skeletons with some evil grins on them so I stamped the light side of the paper with that and inked the edges all around.

Glue a piece of ribbon on the backs of both dominoes before attaching the first page so you can tie your book up!

So sad to say goodbye to Scarefest for me this year....but already hoping for a special DominoArt Christmas??  Who knows, you have to believe! :)

Day 26 of DominoArt's Scarefest 2015

I keep a lot of things for sentimental reasons...a lot!  But recently they have been coming in handy so I am excused!  I used my lovely 1 of 2 jenga pieces I have left after 20 odd years..and yesterday while looking for something in the storage room, I found the  pieces to a game called "Marry, Date or Dump?"  a Hasbro game LOL.  Never remember even buying it but it had four player main cards that were perfect small canvas size and a box with sooo many smaller playing cards for the game.  So a canvas and a sentiment holder....what more could I ask for?

Proof it was a real game..the little card is already glued on the front..

I have been playing around with drawing these girls and just love doing it..this one is done with Prisma colored pencils and watercolor paints with a black marker and white sharpie.  I did get this in the wrong order as Prismas do not like watercolor paper and the wax in them prevents the watercolor paints from absorbing into the paper but hey it was my first one so not complaining too badly.  I gessoed up the big card and dropped food coloring onto it while it was still damp but it faded the colors out so some sprays and fluid and regular acrylics with some DecoArt interference paint dropped on to it gave me a background I could live with.  Fussy cut my doll and glued her down then used 2 of Michael's dollar bin stamps (they have some very cute ones this year!) and some sentiment tags from a paper pad glued to the smaller card and she was done.  Oh, just a little Diamond Accents on the eyes and lips to glam her up a bit.

That's it for me this DominoArt's  Scarefest, 2015, but will look for the chance to play again next year!  Thanks to our lovely hostess, the Sharpie Queen, for making it so much fun!  Keep coming back to the link about until Halloween for more spooktacular altered game art!

Shhh Witches in Training!

I just love altering old books found at the 2nd hand book store in the free bin bound for the trash. They just have such a lovely feel and just beg to be given a second life.  So the training school for witches found a home inside this lovely old book.  Here are some peeks inside...shhh the head witch is speaking!

Class is in with the head witch wearing a crown on top of her hat...show respect!  They have some family pics of some up and coming young witches in training on the wall along with books of spells and potions of course.  And some ancient scrolls..who knows what they hold?  and some tube worms, necessary for so many potions.  It goes without saying the jar of eyeballs gets refilled a lot!  This stamp is from Lost Coast Designs and called "Early Stitch and Bitch"...love it!

The opposite side is the cover of the book has a picture of some alumni and more creepy banners from a lovely lady who gave them as freebies and I cannot remember her name and it did not save it with the image but thanks so much!  Some tarot cards and a skull from air dry clay frame the pic.  The stamps used are all Lost Coast Designs "Dancing Skeletons"  "Mini Sugar Skulls" and the crown from the head witch is "Mini Crowns".

Here is the whole thing....with the hat hanging on the school chalk board sign along with some more spells or charter paper at the top.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to the school!  And don't worry..no spells are ever attached to visitors IF they were quiet.  So I have to leave that issue open for now...I know I was very quiet but what about you?

Book with Altered Tin and Day of the Day

Loving making these books I saw Laura Carsen ( I hope I have that right!) making on YouTube!  And being able to combine an altered tin in it was a plus.

The "Dancing Skeletons"  dancing into "Eternity" are both stamps from Lost Coast Designs.

Some Day of the Dead stickers, a rusty key, and another Lost Coast Designs beauty "Skull and Roses" on the front of the tin.

Inside some bottles from Mischief Circus and an air dry clay sugar skull with some "hairy" additions to his home.

Book of Frights

I have another book, this one has some special drawers with special little spooktacular delights. The front has a lovely green "Skull with Wings" for the spine and just the skull from this awesome stamp from Lost Coast Designs with a little addition of a crawly spider!

The drawers are made from matchboxes (empty!) with jump ring pulls.  My handy dandy label maker made the labels, don't want  to open Rosemary's Baby when you want "Brain Bits" now do we?

The "Frights" drawer includes a happy hitch hiker!

And the other drawers' contents!

That is an imposter in Rosemary's Baby's drawer...he just had to get in on the 31 days fun and I couldn't really show you the baby could I?

Day 12 of DominoArt's Sacrefest, 2015

Hi, I am back for my 2nd visit with DominoArt's Scarefest.  Today I have an altered domino pendant with a ghostly floating chandelier!  Maybe it is named this because I slightly missed grounding it but hey, it's Halloween which would be more fun?

I used some Halloween papers and inked the edges with black Stazon ink.  I drilled two holes in the bottom before putting the paper on then hung some skull dangles on some chains.

The bail is a skull bead that sort of looks down on the floating chandelier.
That's it for me today but I will be visiting one more time during Scarefest!  Once, even twice is not enough fun for me!

Skull Card

Lost Coast Designs has this wicked cool stamp of bodies that form a skull!  I love the quirkiness of it and it looks awesome!  I made a card...yes, a card...hard to do but did it.  I used Distress Inks and water splats for the background with some typewriter keys paper and then cut the individual letters to spell skull under the image...another "skull life" depiction!  The other will be debuting at Dream in Darkness Challenge Blog for the 31 Days of Halloween so keep an eye or three out for it!

How cool is that image?  Freaky awesome cool :)
Hope you are enjoying this time of celebrating we are doing for Halloween...look at it this way, it is prolonging Christmas shopping!

Mail Art from VivaLasVegaStamps!

Got some lovely kraft envelopes that have a waxy surface so had to do some Halloween mail art play with them!  Used a set of fabric sprays I got for a bargain and yep they work ok on paper too!  The stamps are all from VivaLasVegaStamps! Halloween grab bag.  Believe me, their grab bags will not disappoint anyone and the pound o' rubber came with 82 stamps in it!  The grab bag had 15 and all awesome as you can see from the sampling on my envelope!

I threw everything but the kitchen sink on this even a Poe reference but that skull is so fabulous just had to let him see the gloom of night during October! I am slowly catching up to the 31 Days of Halloween even though not an official Wicked Blogger...just have such an urge to go up against a wicked time line and make stuff!  Odd I know but that's me in a nut shell :)

Poe for Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge and Quoth the Raven

I started this Poe when I was considering doing the 31 Days of Halloween on my personal blog but family commitments and health issues made me decide against it.  Now I am so wanting to be in the mix of things scrambling to get things in at the last moment!  But dear old Poe has found a place to play so all is well for now.

Poe is from Rick St. Dennis called "Poe 1" and the number is a stamp from VivaLasVegaStamps.  The skull on the books hails from a kit from Mischief Circus...I am thinking Morbid Brains by Holliewood Studios. I had made a mixed media background but when I saw the color bingo challenge at Quoth the Raven I just had to melt some dollar tree crayons in two shades of orange and yellow onto the poor raven!  And at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge it is "Trick or Treat" .  I think with our dear Poe it will be a trick and not a treat!

Hope you are enjoying this fabulous time of year when all the ghouls and goblins are creeping about!  Just watch out for those shadows....and those spaces over your doors...do you hear a distant cry of :Nevermore?

Please may I enter this in Wicked Wednesday ATC "Trick or Treat" and

It'a Day 4 at DominoArt's Scarefest 2015

I am so happy to be playing at DominoArt's Scarefest again this year!  I am starting off with a photo holder from a Jenga playing piece that is approximately 22 years old?  Wow, does that say hoarder or what?  Not exactly, I just have always hung on the my kid's toys refusing to let them grow up in my head!  But these two pieces I found are sure a treasure to me now!

I used a stamp from the "Morte" set from Smeared Ink.  I used watercolors to color up the image after stamping it.  Then a thick coat of matte medium to stiffen it up and bring out the colors. I attached it to the front of the Jenga piece after drilling three holes in the top for the wires.

This is such an awesome stamp set designed by Rick St. Dennis.

Proof my Jenga piece being back there!  The wire photo holder idea seemed easy to start with but I ended up using beads and soda pop tops together to hold the photos...lovely pic of myself I think center front!
Join us everyday for the whole month to celebrate this year's DominoArt's Scarefest!

The Tell - Tale Heart

The challenge at Quoth the Raven this month is "Material" meaning use some sort of fabric in the make.  I had seen a project from an awesome lady who had taken a hand drawn basic human heart and embroidered the outline and lots of small, medium, and large words "loud" to indicate how the heart beating beneath those floorboards had tormented the killer.  I fell in love with this shoulder bag made of a cotton and wanted to try one.  Well, first I thought the embroidery would not be a big challenge until I made the first stitch!  Then I remembered that I did not know how to do it so well if any!   I should have started this the 1st day of the month of last month to have done a better job of this.  But I kept on going and ended up with my version of this fabulous project.  I am not done with it and will get the right fabric and take the time and maybe get my Mom to refresh my skills and tackle it again!

I added some red seed bead drops and drips to the valves of the heart.

It has a black lace strap that doesn't show up too well on a black spider Queen Halloween costume already on the dress form!

Still time but not a whole lot so make something Poe related and make sure you have some fabric in it  and come see the Quoth the Raven crew with your make, they are waiting for you!  And remember all Poe makes are also welcome at Dream in Darkness Challenge Blog so get two for you time and effort!
