Another New Stamp!

It's Nan again with a fabulous full Small Skeleton that is being reminded by his skull friend that with those wonderful wings he need not walk!  How happy this made my skellie friend, hence his party hat!  I hope you have enjoyed seeing the new releases from both Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda's Stamps as much as I am enjoying playing with them!  Such fun and with the fantastic events we have been and are having, it is just that much more fun!  I hope you have entered our Steampunk Queen of Hearts Event; make sure you visit the The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity   to see our last amazing project from one of the design team today!

The Small Skeleton's helpful wings and fun party hat are from the Doll Accessories set which is full of fun things!  The Persian Skull that is helping out our pal with some advice comes from Lost Coast Designs, too, along with the Old Typewriter Alphabet set for the word "fly".  The smaller words set I picked up in Japan and it is very interestingly made.

Please check out our monthly challenge "Lovers" HERE and of course, all of our event information and all the details of all we have going on visit The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity !

Steampunk Queen Event at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!

Wow, what a twist on Alice! But that is just what you will find in our latest event at the The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity !  I had to put on my thinking cap and then took it off because it just was no good :)  Steampunk is not my easiest style to work with and I think I ended up with a steampunk/Finnabair style Red Queen but I loved the process of getting her there!  Once again I used my sherpa, the Art Sherpa that is, to give a fabulous process to try with acrylic paints and with that and a hand drawn queen mask the fun began!  There is quiet a rainbow on my entire table right now and it makes me smile!

I had no masking medium...Grumbacher's Frisket is on my wish list at the top after this fun techinique!  So I splashed her on cardstock and fussy cut her out...easy solution :)  The a DP run through with a cogs and gears embossing folder and she had her home.  I used two of Lost Coast Designs Red Queens from the Alice and Queen Sitting Queen Set colored with Spectrum Noir Markers trying to use some of the colors in the big splashed queen.  Fussy cut and attached to the bottom then the agony/fun began as I searched for gears and cogs that I darn well know I have but nothing was found.  Then the fabulous Doll Accessories stamp set from Lost Coast Designs and found some awesome (to me) things to give a steampunk feel.  Goggles and eyes, watches, thimble, coin, mirror for her to admire herself, key , and then some bits and bobs of old jewelry under for the stamped pieces to rest on and around.  A brown piece of cardstock run through the same embossing folder to layer her own and she was done!

The Steampunk Queen Event starts on February 11 - 14

Now it is just a shame for me to have all the fun and for YOU to miss out on the chance for fabulous prizes from all of our events!  And to find out all of the details go to the The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity  . Lovers Theme at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity!

I am not a Valentine's Day person since the  loss of my husband.  Sort of the Scrooge of Valentine's Day ...bah heart bug! :)  But the The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity   monthly challenge starts TODAY and the theme is LOVERS.  Ok I told myself I can work with that go all romantic and elegant!  Then I remembered my new release stamp of the puppets Kukla and Ollie and it was over at the point! And they are new releases at Carmen's Veranda Stamps ! It became puppet love all the way!

Yes, puppets fall in love too spending all that time in a trunk together....hmmmm, think about it!  So I took a strip of DT Valentine's paper and glued to the bottom intending to leave it as a pocket so the puppet sticks could go where I wanted them but forgot and just cut a slit with my kraft  knife.  My stamp was stamped on white paper and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and a cardboad "stick" glued to the back, then stuck in and left unglued so they can be moved like actual puppets!

A die that I cannot remember the company that made it! was cut in red and some peel and stick letters spell out "My Love" with a very red feather at the end and a pewter heart in the middle.  The little guy is holding a fake holly berry from a holiday spray but it looked just like a candy apple in his hand so he is is giving his sweet a sweet!

Don't forget to come play with us this month!  And if you are anti-Valentines then think outside of the box and find you a pair of something that looks very much in love and create away!  As always the The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity  has all the info on events, challenges, designer's Reviews; the whole kit and kaboodle!

Hearts a Flutter at Dragons Lair Designs February Challenge

I still just love the Summer Sunset Collection even in winter!  But the couple walking on the beach just embodies the figures of love or hearts a flutter as our theme is this month at Dragons Lair Designs Challenge!

Hope your Valentine's Day is a happy one and spent with someone you love.  Yoshi and the rest of my grandpups want to have a picnic but that will depend on the weather :)
